Easter welcome and blessing

Image
On behalf of Frs Michael, Sone and Joseph, I welcome parishioners and visitors to All Saints Parish. A special welcome to those from other Chris-tian or religious traditions or no faith tradition, those who are visiting family or friends, any who are return-ing to Church after a long absence and those who join us via livestreaming. We offer the peace and joy of Easter to you and your loved ones. Fr Paul.

During the Vigil Mass of the Lord’s Resurrection, we welcome into the Church, Kirstie Craven, Kathryn Minotte, Breeze Morrison, Kevin Nellems, Jennifer Parkes, Chatchanok Stevens and David Stephens through the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist, and Mele Maea, Ulalei Matavano, Justin McSweeney, Mark Riding, Shastin Steward, Ryan Thompson, Sione Tongia and Ngo Thao Uyen Vu through the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist. We congratulate them, thank them for their witness, assure them of our support and prayers and look forward to them offering their gifts in service of our Parish Mission. We thank their godparents, sponsors, families and the Parish RCIA team for accompanying them.

Thinking about joining our Church?

One of the delights of Holy Week and Easter is the significant number of people joining us who are not Catholics, Christians or from any religious tradition. Sometimes, our ceremonies can prompt individuals to know more about our faith. If you are such a person or know someone who might be, please approach a priest or a welcomer. It could transform your life.

Lent, Holy Week and Easter thank you

Image
Thank you to all who contributed to the Lenten, Holy Week, Triduum and Easter celebrations, especially Frs Michael, Sone and Joseph, Parish Staff, RCIA Team, Liturgy Committee, Church Environment Group, Acolytes, Servers, Readers, Welcomers, Musicians, Singers, Overhead and Livestreaming Operators, Wardens, Counters and Resurrection Party organisers. All Saints is blessed with so much generosity. Fr Paul.

Plea for caution on the Parish site

Image
Please be patient and careful when walking or driving on the Parish site. The mix of pedestrians and vehicles is a dangerous combination, especially this weekend when crowds are bigger. Please do not block the thoroughfare connecting the Campbell Street area or park others in. Please exit via Bigge Street or Campbell Street.

Easter Octave and Easter Season

Image
The Easter Octave comprises 8 days from Easter Sunday to the 2nd Sunday of Easter. It forms the first part of the Easter Season, this Season extending for 50 days from Easter Sunday to Pentecost Sunday. The concept of a sacred Octave probably began as a period of mystagogia — assimilation of newly initiated converts (neophytes) into the life and worship of the Church. The 8th (last) day was called post-albus (“after-white”) Sunday, when neo-phytes laid aside their white baptismal robes and as-sumed the same status as other members. Each day of the Easter Octave has the rank of Solemnity, the high-est liturgical honour given by the Church. Consequent-ly, the Gloria is included in all its Masses.

Easter Offerings

Donations through Easter Offering and Christmas Offering envelopes are the main source of funds for Pastoral Revenue. They augment what is given in the first collection at Sunday Masses, Baptism and Wedding donations. Pastoral Revenue supports clergy stipends and care for retired and sick clergy. Each parish gives to a central fund what they collect after expenses. Parishes able to declare surpluses sup-port those who are not. Please place Easter Offering envelopes with donations enclosed on either plate dur-ing Sunday Masses throughout the Easter Season.
