Social Justice Sunday - Truth and Peace: A Gospel Word in a Violent World


The Australian Catholic Bishops Conference (ACBC) designate the last Sunday in August as Social Justice Sunday. The ACBC has released a Social Justice Statement on this day almost every year since 1940. The 2024 theme is Truth and Peace: A Gospel Word in a Violent World. The Statement explores why violence is so widespread, argues that the human heart desires peace and that commitment to the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the way to find it.
