Policy for the sick list in the Parish Bulletin

Praying for the sick is an essential work of the Church. The Catechism of the Catholic Church (a. 1509) states: “‘Heal the sick’ (Mk 10:8). The Church has received this charge from the Lord and strives to carry it out by taking care of the sick as well as by accompanying them with her prayer of intercession.” Listing names of sick parishioners in the Parish Bulletin is part of this accompaniment. At the same time, the list must be up to date and not too long. To this end, those listed as sick should be either All Saints parishioners, their relatives or close friends. Names are included for four (4) Bulletins (one month). Loved ones must re-apply to the Parish Office to have the names listed for another month. This ensures that the list remains up to date and manageable. Please contact the Office if the circumstances of a listed sick person changes.
