World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly - 27 July


World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly will be celebrated next Sunday, 27 July. It was instituted by Pope Francis in 2021 on the 4th Sunday in July each year, close to the Feast of Ss Joachim and Anne (26 July), Jesus’ grandparents. The theme this year is ‘Blessed are those who have not lost hope’ (cf. Sir 14:2) in this Jubilee Year of Hope. Pope Leo XIV invites us to recognise the elderly not only as re-cipients of pastoral care but as witnesses of hope who are active protagonists in the life of the Church.

Masses in All Saints' church are: 7am 8am (Italian), 9.15am (with ASCC K-Yr 4), 1pm, 6pm (Polish) and  7.30pm. Masses at  All Saints Catholic College  will be at  9am (Yrs 5-10 – Liverpool campus) and  12.30pm (Yrs 11-12 – Casula campus). Ash Wednesday (like Good Friday) is a  day of fasting and abstinence (no meat) . Catholics  18 – 59 are bound to fast . Catholics  older than 13 are bound to abstain .

Christmas Day – Wednesday 25 December: 7am, 8.15am (Italian), 9.30am, 11am & 6.30pm (Polish). No 5pm English Mass.
