World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly

This Sunday is World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly. The Day was instituted by Pope Francis in 2021 to be celebrated on the 4th Sunday in July, close to the Feast of Ss Joachim and Anne (26 July), Jesus’ grandparents. In this Jubilee Year of Hope, the theme is ‘Blessed are those who have not lost hope’ (cf. Sir 14:2). Pope Leo XIV invites us to recognise the elderly not only as recipients of pastoral care but as witnesses of hope who are active protago-nists in the life of the Church.

Masses in All Saints' church are: 7am 8am (Italian), 9.15am (with ASCC K-Yr 4), 1pm, 6pm (Polish) and  7.30pm. Masses at  All Saints Catholic College  will be at  9am (Yrs 5-10 – Liverpool campus) and  12.30pm (Yrs 11-12 – Casula campus). Ash Wednesday (like Good Friday) is a  day of fasting and abstinence (no meat) . Catholics  18 – 59 are bound to fast . Catholics  older than 13 are bound to abstain .

Christmas Day – Wednesday 25 December: 7am, 8.15am (Italian), 9.30am, 11am & 6.30pm (Polish). No 5pm English Mass.
