Solemnity of Christ the King


The Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe was instituted by Pope Pius XI in 1925, originally on the Sunday before All Saints Day. Pope St Paul VI in 1969 moved it to the last Sunday in the Church’s year. It acclaims that Jesus’ victory over sin and death confirms his identity as King of heaven and earth. By following him as disciples, we participate in his Kingship now and forever.

Masses in All Saints' church are: 7am 8am (Italian), 9.15am (with ASCC K-Yr 4), 1pm, 6pm (Polish) and  7.30pm. Masses at  All Saints Catholic College  will be at  9am (Yrs 5-10 – Liverpool campus) and  12.30pm (Yrs 11-12 – Casula campus). Ash Wednesday (like Good Friday) is a  day of fasting and abstinence (no meat) . Catholics  18 – 59 are bound to fast . Catholics  older than 13 are bound to abstain .

Christmas Mass times Christmas Eve – Tuesday 24 December: 6pm (Family Mass), 8pm, 9.30pm (Polish) & Midnight (carols from 11.30pm). Christmas Day – Wednesday 25 December: 7am, 8.15am (Italian), 9.30am, 11am & 6.30pm (Polish). No 5pm English Mass.
