Season of Advent


Advent comes from the Latin advenio, “to come”. Like Lent, Advent is a “purple” season of waiting and preparing for God to enter history in the baby Jesus of Nazareth. It calls the faithful to quiet reflection, repentance and prayer. Expectation grows as the “Bethlehem Candle” for peace is lit this Sunday.

Masses in All Saints' church are: 7am 8am (Italian), 9.15am (with ASCC K-Yr 4), 1pm, 6pm (Polish) and  7.30pm. Masses at  All Saints Catholic College  will be at  9am (Yrs 5-10 – Liverpool campus) and  12.30pm (Yrs 11-12 – Casula campus). Ash Wednesday (like Good Friday) is a  day of fasting and abstinence (no meat) . Catholics  18 – 59 are bound to fast . Catholics  older than 13 are bound to abstain .

The Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary this Friday, 15 August is a Holy Day of Obligation. Masses are at: 7:30pm        Vigil (Thursday evening), 7:00am, 9:15am        with ASCC K-Year 4 , 1:00pm, 6:00pm         Polish. Masses for All Saints College will be celebrated at 9:00am        Casula campus 11:45am      Liverpool campus, Years 5-10 . Please note: there will be NO 7.30pm Friday Mass.
