Feast of the Baptism of the Lord

The Feast of the Baptism of the Lord in the Roman Catholic Church marks the end of the Christmas Season. The liturgical period of Ordinary Time (colour green) begins tomorrow and extends through to Ash Wednesday, 18 February, the beginning of the Season of Lent. The Baptism of Jesus is described in the synoptic gospels (Mt 3:13-17; Mk 1:9-11; Lk 3:21-22) and referred to in St John (Jn 1:29 -34). It is one of four revelations of Jesus as Christ and Son of God venerated in the early Church. The others are Christmas, Epiphany and Marriage Feast at Cana.

The Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary this Friday, 15 August is a Holy Day of Obligation. Masses are at: 7:30pm        Vigil (Thursday evening), 7:00am, 9:15am        with ASCC K-Year 4 , 1:00pm, 6:00pm         Polish. Masses for All Saints College will be celebrated at 9:00am        Casula campus 11:45am      Liverpool campus, Years 5-10 . Please note: there will be NO 7.30pm Friday Mass.
