2nd Rite of Reconciliation in Holy Week—1 April 7:30pm


The Sacrament of Reconciliation Rite 2 will be held at 7.30pm this Wednesday, 1 April. It comprises communal preparation and thanksgiving. Penitents approach a priest individually to confess their sins and receive absolution. Rite 2 expresses and witnesses to our shared faith in God’s merciful love. It is an opportunity to encourage and support one another in our shared experiences as sinners and saved.

For Rite 2 to work well, penitents need to be succinct in confessing their sins. It is not the time for long lists of sins nor seeking advice. To this end, priests will stand to hear confessions. The confessionals will not be used. Please help make this liturgy an inspiring event.

Ash Wednesday Masses in All Saints church: 7:00 am 9.15am (with ASCC K-Yr 4), 1:00 pm 6:00 pm (Polish) 7.30 pm. Masses at All Saints Catholic College: 9:00 am (Yrs 5-10 – Liverpool campus) 12.5 0pm (Yrs 11-12 – Casula campus). Ash Wednesday (like Good Friday) is a day of fasting and abstinence (no meat). Catholics aged 18 to 59 are bound to fast and older than 13, to abstain.
