Archbishop seeks support for vote on abortion bill

Archbishop Fisher urges Sydney Catholics to write to members of the NSW Legislative Council in support of the upcoming Abortion Law Reform (Sex Selection Prohibition) Amendment Bill 2025, which will be debated in NSW Parliament in two weeks. It seeks to end the abortion practice that discriminates against female infants. The Australian Christian Lobby website (https://www.acl.org.au/ campaigns/nswsexselectiveabortion/) can assist.

There will be a Rally for Life (https:// www.drjoannahowe.com.au/sydneyrallyforlife2026) on Tuesday, 2 June, on the eve of the debate.

Masses at All Saints Catholic College: 9:00 am (Yrs 5-10 – Liverpool campus) 12.5 0pm (Yrs 11-12 – Casula campus). Ash Wednesday (like Good Friday) is a day of fasting and abstinence (no meat). Catholics aged 18 to 59 are bound to fast and older than 13, to abstain.
